COMMISIONED TROPHY FOR BOARDMASTERS 2017.
This year as part of my Creative role at Boardmasters Festival, I was lucky enough to put my friends at Lignum Surf forward to design the winners trophies for the WSL QS1,000 Boardmasters, Quiksilver & Roxy Opens and the Jeep Longboard Competition. The aim was to design a trophy that rang true to the roots of Boardmasters, connecting with the local surf community and supporting the ethos of sustainable design that uses less waste and more organic natural products.
Custom hand shaped trophies for the Boardmasters Open with WSL 2017
HAND SHAPED, LOCALY SOURCED & WASTE FREE
The boys did us proud and their trophy design won the tender with a hand shaped design made out of locally sourced wood that contained a custom stringer as with any traditional surfboard. The natural form and waste free design not only appealed to the ethos of Boardmasters with their ongoing support of Surfers Against Sewage, but served as a beautiful piece for the winners. .
